Halo 3 Recon Announced

Yesterday at TGS 08 during Microsoft's press conference a new game in a very popular franchise was announced. Nearing the very end of the conference, one that was extremely dull and boring, a new trailer was unveiled. The trailer was for a new game by Bungie studios called Halo 3 Recon.

Halo 3 Recon is an entirely new game which expands upon the Halo 3 experience. And for the first time in Halo history the main character of this game will not be Master Chief. Instead, players will take on the role of a lone ODST traversing through the Halo universe. And if the trailer is any indication of what type of atmosphere Halo 3 Recon will have, this game will be much darker and more realistic than the three previous Halo games. Click here to see the trailer for yourself. At this point very little is known about Halo 3 Recon aside from what can be speculated by the trailer. But the little information we have already has Halo fans speculating to hell and back. Below is what we have been told so far about Halo 3 Recon.

- Halo 3 Recon will be released Fall 2009 and is a standalone Halo experience

- Halo 3 Recon will feature a full fledged campaign which takes place during the events leading up to Master Chief's return to New Mombasa

- Players will take on the role of an ODST and take on a whole new perspective to the events of Halo 3

- While many of the core gameplay elements will remain in Halo 3 Recon, players will need to put a greater emphasis on stealth

- On the multiplayer side of things, Halo 3 Recon will feature exclusive new maps and expanded Forge options to experience on Xbox Live

- Halo 3 Recon will feature all of the great community aspects of Halo 3 such as saved films, screenshots, campaign scoring, and four-player coop

As you can see the information provided at this point is merely just a tease of what is to come, something that Bungie has always been known for.
