You know the stuff I mean; the plasticware that you're using because it comes free with other products. All those empty butter and Cool-Whip containers, the frosting tubs, and the plastic jar the peanut butter came in. Here are some of the great uses for these free containers...

Store food ~
Okay, let's get the obvious one out of the way. You could store leftovers in them. They come with matching lids, which is very handy, and they can be microwaved (briefly) for reheating.

Store non-food ~
Now get creative. Store your kid's toys; Legos, actions figures, Matchbox cars, Happy Meal toy collections, and so on. If it's small, and you're tired of tripping on it, scoop up a group of similar items and store them in a handy Redneck Tupperware container.

Make a car kit ~
I'm not talking about a first-aid kit, (although that's a good idea too). I'm talking about a convenience kit. Gather up the things you always seem to have scattered on the floorboards after you grab a handful of 'we might need more' supplies at fast food restaurants. Ketchup, salt and pepper, napkins, wet-naps, and extra straws. Then the next time you hear 'I didn't get any ketchup!' floating up from the back seat, you'll know just where to find it.

Organize your drawers ~
You can keep little things from rolling around and getting lost in a drawer by using pieces of Redneck Tupperware with the lids left off. (Very handy use of the pieces that you lost the lids for anyway.) Put a piece of Redneck Tupperware in your top drawer to drop change and jewelry into. Put a piece in the baby's dresser to keep those little tiny socks together.

Contain messy stuff ~
When your kids mix their Play-doh, leaving you with more new colors than you have jars, put the extras in Redneck Tupperware. They're also handy for leftover finger-paints, and captured bugs.

Chop them up ~
You can cut templates out of the flexible-but-strong plastic that Redneck Tupperware is made from. Make your own stencils for arts and crafts. And then store your new stencils in more Redneck Tupperware!

Takeaways
  • The next time you hear 'I didn't get any ketchup!' floating up from the back seat, you'll know just where to find it.
  • Put a piece of Redneck Tupperware in the baby's dresser to keep those little tiny socks together.
  • If you've got an infant or toddler, and you're too-long from the next rest stop, a piece of Redneck Tupperware can come in mighty handy.

Ha! Thanks! I needed a good laugh today. This one really cracked me up. As a redneck girl myself, I never buy tupperware, I store everything in redneck tupperware.

I never knew I was a redneck :) I use only free containers. Why pay for them?

You can use them to organize tools, too. You can put little nuts and bolts in them and they won't be flying around everywhere :) Nice article!

Great tips Carol. I should put a small one in my car and stop junking up my console!

Using them in your suitcase. For some reason, I had never thought about that. Good idea.

I use my cool whip containers as bowls for the kids. I also use my baby wipes box for loose change.

Made me smile, and it was useful! Thanks!

I never thought about calling them Redneck Tupperware. Cute name. I do collect them, though. I am always sending food home to my brother in law. Then he can just toss them.

I'm very into recycling and you've come up with some good ways to use Redneck Tupperware (have you been watching too much Blue Collar TV?).

OMG, I can't stop laughing at the "red neck tupperware" phrase. This is one that I can use on my mother-in-law. I cannot stand storing food in anything plastic as it gets greasy or stained. I only use glass storage containers. Anyway, you have listed some great tips, and thanks for the laugh!

Hi, I'm Faith and I have redneck tupperware. Maybe there is rehab for this problem. I use the small butter dishes (the ones that come 2 to a pack) to put snack in for my kids.
