This album bears a very important tribute in our American history, it not only has important social issues, but it is a reminder of what America once truly was. Curtis Mayfield again pressed the envelope on bringing awareness to the social issues and injustice that many African-American people faced during the early seventies. During this time, many African-American people began to rise from the realms of poverty and despair to make a better life for their self and their family. This was a growing period in America where the face of America was changing and evolving into a new and challenged society.

This album cover became a talking point for many artists whom were involved in the socio-economic concerns during a changing time in America. R&B music has remained an important part of our American society for too many reasons to state. During the early seventies many White-Americans expressed a deep love for R&B soul music. This album cover expressed a time where the ideals of America were falsely presented in the conservative mainstream media and through the psyche of some White-Americans. Although there was a change of guard in America, Curtis Mayfield remained to have a positive outlook on how Black-America was represented. This album cover has so many innate and timeless qualities that bridge our humanity for the better good of us all.
