Achievement

When I look inside myself at traits both good and bad,

I see someone who's learned to grow beyond the past she had.

The suffered abuse I believed was right, I now can see as wrong.

The qualities I yearned to own have been in me all along.

The dreams that seemed so out-of-reach are just a grasp away.

The goals I thought I'd never see are here with me today.

There is no place for Hopelessness to fester in my heart.

A special room is leased to Love; it's abundance to impart.

Forgiveness has a corner room directly down the hall.

But the rest belong to Self-respect; the sweetest achievement of all.
