The Panasonic TH-42PX60U is sleeker, and more appealing to the eye than its previous versions. It comes as a standard 42inch screen with a black lining placed in a silver case. The tabletop holder for the Panasonic TH-42PX60U is also silver, and the whole combination looks elegant. The remote control on the Panasonic TH-42PX60U has also been improved, and now houses much bigger number keys. The one improvement that could've been made but was missed is that of the backlit remote control. Since the remote doesn't have a backlight at all, you won't be able to operate it in the dark. Although the remote works with VCR, cable boxes, and DVD players too.
Just like most other high-resolution plasmas today, the Panasonic TH-42PX60U has a native resolution of 1024x768 pixels. Even though this isn't enough to display all of HDTV sources, there really is no plasma screen in the 42 inch category that can do so. The Panasonic TH-42PX60U can display HDTV, DVD and other standard TV sources. The Panasonic TH-42PX60U lacks a dedicated PC input. However, you could hook up a computer source via the HDMI.
