He Never Missed a Bump...

There are always things in life that can get you down or frustrate you as you travel from one day to the next. Sometimes we are a little better off than at other times. Some days we weigh less than we did the day before and other days we might weigh more. Ups and down. Life is full of them. New love, comfortable warm old love, loves lost. We hope for the smooth, straight, path, but the truth of it is, life is a winding path filled with hills and mountains, valleys, sink holes, and bumps. If we're lucky we can dodge the sink holes, but there is always going to be a bump, it's like that song school children sing about the bus driver: "... he never missed a bump, bump, bump..."It is never easy to try and turn bad things around into something good, but sometimes bad things happen for good reasons, or good ultimately comes out of bad. They say that the Lord never gives us more than we can carry, or that what doesn't kill us makes us stronger. That's all well and good, but trying to remember that when you're trying to find the money to put gas in the car or even how to feed the kids this week can be a challenge. I've been there, some weeks I go back to visit that place. There were times I let the bumps in the road of life pull me down and I've felt like it's just too much to get back up on that road and keep walking. Maybe it's true that it makes us stronger. Every time we fall down and pull ourselves up again it gets a little easier to keep walking, so long as we get back up on our feet and not lay down on the road in defeat.
They say that there is always someone worse off, so be grateful for what you have. So long as you are drawing that sweet, blessed, breath of life, you are doing ok.
