"What About Brian" Gets a Hearty Two Thumbs Up

I still can't get over it. I seldom if ever watch television. Up until I discovered WHAT ABOUT BRIAN on ABC on Monday nights at 10:00 EST, the only show I watched was DEAL OR NO DEAL, hosted by Howie Mandel, which also comes on on Monday night, thus the reason I had the TV on in the first place. Truth be known, I most likely wouldn't have even checked out DEAL OR NO DEAL if I hadn't had a crush on Howie Mandel for the last twenty-five years.

So there I was. DEAL OR NO DEAL was over but I just didn't bother to turn the TV off. I was doing laundry, pittling around the house, washing dishes, you know, taking care of business before I settled down with a good book followed by a good night's sleep. I sat down on the couch before retiring and something prompted me to switch from CBS to ABC right about the time that WHAT ABOUT BRIAN was coming on and I was instantly hooked. I haven't missed an episode since.

What was the attraction to WHAT ABOUT BRIAN, you ask? Well, if I had to sum it up, it reminded me a lot of a TV show I watched back in my thirties, which was aptly titled THIRTY SOMETHING, with characters that were living real life circumstances, minus the manufactured drama you see on so many shows, characters I could relate to.
