(The wine country of Northern California is a scenic wonderland, its climate is wonderful, a place of recreational activity, which makes it a healthy and an interesting place to take one's vacation. Perhaps that's why vacationing in the wine country of California has gotten so popular.)

The 'Wine country' in Northern California has been known as a premium wine-growing area since 1838. There are some 200 wineries in the area, mostly located in the valleys - Napa Valley in Napa County, Sonoma Valley, Santa Barbara County, Alexander Valley and Russian River Valley in Sonoma County. Wine grapes are harvested in the combined counties of Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake and other counties through much of Northern California.

There are the scenes of the rows of vines luscious grapes ripening on each cultivated acre - a perfect setting mixed framed within the green valleys, the rolling hills, and waters of blue lakes. The grapevines are quite beautiful too. Their darkish brown gnarled limbs with hanging bunches of grapes hanging from slender tendrils would make mouths water and the palates would tingle in the anticipation of the taste of coming wine from their juices.

The climate in the 'wine country' is warm and refreshing during the grape growing and harvest season with invigorating air and serenity all around - excellent for grape growing and also excellent for the many visitors that tread its boundaries. A vacation among the vineyards really can be beautiful and quite interesting. Plan your experience to the 'wine country' with a longer stay in mind. Living in wine country can be just one visit away.

A visit to the Wine Country would not be complete without the taste of their vintner's excellent wines - the taste of the fine bouquet of wine when you visit one of the wineries - a glass of sparkling red or white wine at your evening meal after a wonderful tour of the area - or to join in a wine-tasting event. Swirl, sniff, sip and connoisseurs of fine wines will swoon over how delectable a good a wine tastes.

Sounds like a lovely and versatile place to visit. But since I don't consume any form of alcohol ever, I'll forgo the wine tasting!
