In another time and another place,
It would have been a pleasure
to know you better.

I'm too ashamed to say it out loud,
Protecting that part of me that's afraid.
Or perhaps I'm only a coward.

Never to know what there can be shown,
Two strangers in the midst
Could have lived to grow.

Closer and closer to that right time
I wouldn't even need the closure,
To overcome this love of mine.

Frivolous, ridiculous, or even absurd,
It's time I stand up and be true,
For my feelings have remained deferred.

Too long it's been in subtlety and moments
captured in brevity, your levity
I won't ever forget.

Never would I interfere with something
You hold dear, so I step aside
Because I never know what's right.

This game and quest, of love and distress,
Somehow finds me when I least expect.
Now, what is there for me to do?

The vows of silence have been broken,
And please remember...
My feelings have now been spoken.

Unless you feel the same,
This is the last you'll hear
Of my love kept secretly. Insane!

Did You Know?
Why do we fall for the ones we can't have? Human nature seeks after things that may or may not be within reach. This is an example of the latter.
