While this game may be a remake of the other earlier games by Novalogic of Delta Force fame, it is still a great first person shooter and fun to play. The game is just a remake of the earlier versions of the games namesake but that didn't stop the company from changing things radically and adding in some new features. The game is a remake as it has not introduced new elements of gameplay or new technology for the game engine. It is basically the same as their earlier games, just with new levels and different things like new vehicles. Delta Force Xtreme is a regular first person shooter without all the added frills and special features that many game companies are trying for these days. The only real difference from the earlier Delta Force games is some of the vehicles you get to ride on and drive. Other than that the game is pretty much the same, you are part of elite Delta Force and you have different missions to accomplish, which are relatively the same, kill the bad guys and not get killed. This is not all that difficult but the main part of the game is that it is fun. The graphics are good but not fantastic but the game is very steady. Very little glitching could be found and I like that in a game.
The requirements are pretty low, today it's not uncommon to see these about double for a FPS game but they kept them low to appeal to a wider audience and to keep the price down.
Minimum System Requirements
Processor Pentium III 1.2 Ghz or equivalent
RAM 512 MB
Video 32 MB
Disk Drive 2.1 GB
The single player part of the game has three different areas of operation and you can switch back and forth to change the flavor of the game play. Each area is very different from the other and gives different challenges to the game. The single player missions are not all that difficult as the AI in the game is not very advanced but then again it is fun, shooting and blowing up anything in your way as you go from way point to way point is the whole of the game. The single player missions are not tough but you can get through them quickly. If you get really bored with that though you can use the mission editor and change the game a bit to make it more difficult.
