Let me tell you about the new Fuze drink that is all the rage in my workplace. Well at least with two of us.Fuze Black and Green Tea, with Acai Berry and Vitamins is creeping its way on to shelves just in time for Halloween.
I discovered the flavor in a vending machine located in the hospital and became an instant fan.
I searched my area over and was not able to find the drink in stores. So I was forced to visit the hospital vending machine to purchase the antioxidant-rich drink.
Of course on one of my many trips to the machine I bumped in to someone I knew.
Of course everyone assumes your at the hospital to visit someone, not to make purchases from a vending machine.
The acquaintance is related to one of my coworkers. So a few days later I asked my coworker to make sure her relative understood I'm not nuts, but instead addicted to FUZE Black and Green Tea.
To my surprise, my coworker I had also tried the tea at the hospital and like me was frustrated that it was not on store shelves.
Later that week the vitamin loaded drink began appearing in our local stores and we no longer have to visit the hospital vending machine.
In addition to antioxidants the tea contains vitamins B3, B5, B6, B12, C and E.
The company's Web site states that Fuze Black and Green Tea contains about the same antioxidant capacity of three servings of broccoli.
But never fear, if your a broccoli hater, the drink does not taste like broccoli.
If fat is your concern, the drink is fat free and sodium free.
Each bottle also contains 133mg of Polyphenols, a group of chemical substances found in plants, which the label claims protects cell membranes and cellular DNA from the damaging effects of free radical induced oxidative damage.
It is believed that regular consumption of Polyphenols help maintain cardiovascular function in healthy individuals.
Probably the most popular ingredient in the tea is Acai Berry.
This berry is the subject of many weight loss claims, health claims and scams.
An article that appears on Oprah.com calls the berry a super food.
Acai is the product of palm trees in the Amazon and is said to be loaded with antioxidants that battle premature aging.
