Bono Knighted

Every year the Queen of England hands down in a long held traditions the coveted entitlement the is known as a Knighthood. The British Ambassador to Ireland David Reddaway announced that Bono is to be honorary knighted.

Bono is the head statesman of his esteem and tremendously successful rock band U2. He is not entitled to the "Sir" title as a non-British national. He is being granted the honorary title in a ceremony that can take place in Dublin, Ireland.

Bono's honorary knighthood comes as a result of his being the supreme human he is. He is the man who brought the world's leaders to question the lack of fair treatment in Africa. Nations that suffered heinous poverty and yet still were billed in spite of their astronomical national debt by world foreign countries set a flame under Bono.

He brought attention to this atrocity. He then brought these atrocities to the attention of the world in his Live 8 concert last summer that features bands from diverse musically backgrounds on several different continents. The concert co-organized by the Live Aid 80's concert Sir Bob Geldof raised awareness not money and demanded the attention of the world leaders to end the national debts for Africa countries affected.

In a world were being a rock star is more than enough so the average guy, Bono strived for more, He took his beliefs and he translated them to concepts that worked. He took those concepts to the world forum and said it can be done. When leaders started to listen and take notice, he did not stop there, but instead went that step further and said it must be done.

In 2005, his dream of an Africa set free from their national debt became realty. The nations whose debts have been erased have an opportunity to lead their nation from the handouts or poverty stricken circumstances they suffer from. He also launched the genius Make Poverty History campaign. A campaign that brought a simple concept to end deaths in Africa featuring celebrities wearing white t-shirts snapping their finger in representation of a death per snap.
