The top resolutions made each year involve weight loss, quitting smoking, more exercise and saving money. Well, I've made all of those resolutions before. Like 46% of people that make resolutions, I didn't stick to them longer than six months. One of the biggest contributors to not making the resolution stick is a lack of a long term plan. Another reason resolutions don't work is because they don't fit into your lifestyle!

So this year I'm making New Year's Resolutions I think I can keep!

In order of least important to most important, here they are.

10. No more drinking and driving. DND it's known as out here (drinkin' 'n drivin') in Iowa. Or gravel jammin'. This one should be relatively easy for me, I don't drink. I'm always the designated driver. Always. So maybe I'll spice this one up and refuse to drive my drunk friends. Let them get a cab. Wait, there are no cabs out here. Okay, they can find another sober driver, at least once a month.

9. Eat cookies every day. Okay, maybe just one cookie. Well, two at the most. There is no sense in depriving yourself. When you go on the diet you think you can't eat your favorite foods. Then of course you get frustrated and end up eating an entire package of Oreo's. So why not eat one cookie a day and get those cravings out of the way? I think I'll have my cookie with breakfast.

8. Read a book once a week. Here again, not a hard New Year's Resolution to keep. I usually read two books a week. This way though, I'll make sure I read at least one book. Keep myself educated!

7. Stay up to date on current events. That means watching the news at least 1/2 hour a day. Our big screen TV should help with that. It will also help that my husband is a CNN junkie. I can put down my book for 1/2 an hour a day.

Now here's some great hats for cats!
