Black Widow Invading Great Britain

Mail Online has picked up a story by the Daily Mail Reporter, "Britain faces black widow spider as hordes of alien bugs now thrive in our warmer climate." The article asserts that experts are warning that black widows could soon be establishing colonies due to warmer weather.

It is somewhat daunting that due to the ongoing change in Britain's weather they are being invaded by 500-plus new bug types each year. The black widow would add to that number.

As the article goes on to report, the suspected villain in this temperature change is global warming.

The black widow is following suit of its cousin the false widow.

Certainly it is not hard to believe that global warming has a lot to do with the climate change, however, why is it affecting Britain so much more than other countries?

Great Britain, has established a lackadaisical attitude towards imports. Therefore countries sending food and goods are not as careful in their evaluations of exports.

Historically, while the black widow came into Britain, sooner or later there would be a cold snap and no colonies would be allowed to get large.

Most often the spider comes in on fruit such as bananas.

The black widow spider is just the latest spider to be in the news. I've written on the Huntsman spider and several others at Associated Content.

So, is global warming a reality? It would seem to be.

Global warming apparently occurs when there is too much pollution in the atmosphere causing a "greenhouse effect" and keeping the earth's temperature too warm changing typical weather phenomenon.

Certainly, in my city this year, there has been an extraordinary amount of moisture due to the fact that our "summer weather" went much longer. In fact, through September we have still been having some rain, further, we had about the heaviest flooding we had ever had and I suppose you could blame that on global warming.
