Conservative Celebrities Who You Might Be Surprised to Know Are Conservatives

We all know that Charlton Heston, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis and Trace Adkins are hardcore conservatives, and there's really no surprise. Well, there may be a little surprise with Clint Eastwood, since some of his movies (not the Dirty Harry ones, obviously) seem to actually express an interest in caring about people, but as for the rest, well, the proof is in the idiocy that is spouted every time they open their mouths. And it probably comes as little surprise that most professional athletes and coaches are conservatives. (What do you get when you put three athletes on Celebrity Jeopardy? Nobody left to play Final Jeopardy.) I wonder if there's ever been a liberal athlete; probably not since most athletes quit reading around sixth grade.

Still, you may well be surprised at some celebrities who are conservatives. And the sheer number of conservative celebrities raises yet another problem with this whole idea of Hollywood being a hotbed of liberalism. In fact, Hollywood has always been one of the most conservative company towns in America, if not the most conservative. I can attest to be shocked upon discovering that Michael J. Nelson of Mystery Science Theater was a conservative.

Heather Locklear. It never fails to amaze when I discover that someone who made their career entirely out appearing in skimpy outfits and being the object of sexual fantasies of thirteen year boys is a conservative. Apparently, Heather Locklear is a conservative in the name of politics only; she certainly has been a conservative dresser.

Kelsey Grammer. I'm also always surprised when I hear about drug addicts and law-breakers being staunch Republicans. Is the GOP supposed to be the Party of family values and the arbiters of morality. Here's an eye-opener for you: Kelsey Grammer is a worse law-breaker than his Simpsons doppelganger, Sideshow Bob. After all, Sideshow Bob only attempted to murder Bart Simpson; Kelsey Grammer committed a felony every time he indulged in cocaine and Ecstasy. That's conservative family values for you.
