The Losers Vol. 1- Ante Up
Diggle and Jock Blow Stuff Up Real Good!

I decided to pick up the first volume of The Losers, written by Andy Diggle and illustrated by Jock (just Jock) and I am glad I took the chance. I had heard whispers about this comic book, mainly about how good it is and how much action it's packing. With Andy Diggle's balls-to-the-wall story and Jock synthesizing a stylized action flick within the panels of a comic, there are few things i can think of to do with my time then to get wrapped up in the story of guys who desire a fistful of revenge. The story starts with the titular crew pulling off a scam that at first I didn't understand. They use non-lethal force to take down two soldiers in an effort to scam the military. Through this opening scene, we learn who this group consists of. Jensen is a nerdy looking guy with spiked hair. Cougar wears a cowboy hat and is a nice shot with a rifle & scope. Rouqe is a tough talking, with a scowl and a scar on his face. That leaves Pooch, who's African American, but any specialty he has hasn't been fleshed out yet. That leaves our fearless leader, who isn't named yet.
The setting then shifts to New York, where the cover girl of The Losers volume 1 breaks up a black market slavery deal. She shows us just what one woman can do with a loaded handgun, a knife and one grenade. Stuff goes boom, and it goes boom really nicely. What do these five highly organized men have to do with this one dangerous woman? The name Max may be what brings these two parties together as a squad. Aisha, who has been working for the CIA, is accepted by leader Clay into this team of former CIA ops because of what she knows, and how much closer she can get them to the mysterious Max.
