Your shapes tool consists of rectangles, circles, squares, ovals, rounded rectangles, and polygons. You have many different options when using the shape tool. You can fill the shapes in with patterns or solid colors. You can create the borders with a fill or a solid color. In this
tutorial I will show you how to use your shape tool in Photobie. Create a new photo panel to work on and we will get started.

Let's start out by drawing a basic square. In the toolbox on the right you will see two shape icons. The first shape icon is the Shape Outline tool. You cannot fill these shapes in. The second shape tool is the fill shape tool. These are the shapes that you can fill in. We are going to use the fill tool right now. So click the arrow beside the fill shape icon. A menu will pop up and you will need to click Square.

You will notice above the toolbox two rectangles appeared. The top box is the texture box. This box allows you to fill your square with a texture. The second box is the Image Texture, this box allows you to fill the square with an image.

Let's start off with the texture fill (top box). Drop that box down and click a texture that you want to use. Tick the box beside the texture box and tick the Apply Texture box above it. Go down to the color panel and select the color that you want to use. Now draw the square on your panel. The square automatically has the texture that you selected.

Now let's create a square with the image fill. With the square tool still selected, drop the image fill box down and select the image that you want to use. Tick the box beside the image fill box and make sure that the Apply Texture box is still ticked. Go to the panel and draw your rectangle using your mouse.

Now you can start experimenting with the other fill shapes. Click the arrow beside the fill shapes icon and select another shape to use. Apply the texture of your choice and start drawing. You can create wallpaper and backgrounds using the image fill tool.
