My husband and I both grew up in the Portsmouth Area and just recently (within the last 3 months) moved from the area. As for bars and clubs I would recommend Noggins or Party Time over those mentioned. The Stag Bar can get kind of rough and Frank & Steins is a place I wouldn't dare step foot in. CR Thomas hasn't been there for at least two years (2006) and the building where they were located now is home to another Toro Loco Also the University located in Portsmouth is not a branch of Ohio State or Ohio University. Shawnee State University is their own school independent from the other large universities in the state. Of course the Scioto Ribber is the best place to eat. bar none!
