Taking yet another look into the death of Kurt Cobain....

I was a young teenager when I had heard the news...fourteen to be exact. Friends and family seemed to worry I would do the same, doing hourly checkups to ensure I hadn't. Granted, being as impressionable as teenagers tend to be it wasn't too far off. How they did not realize I was light years beyond that in maturity still astounds me. Regardless of the fact that a voice that had helped to define my youth was now a memory, that was all it was. I didn't know the man personally, nor did half the population that held candles while his widow read from his "suicide note". Yet, we all mourned....for a man who's only connection to us was his music.

Over a decade later, the debate continues. Was Kurt Cobain murdered, or did he truly take his own life? Many people believe that his widow Courtney Love, had paid a fellow musician to kill him. Below is a list of the most damning contradictions in the case.

1. Courtney Love had "handwriting samples" in her posession as if she was practicing her late husband's penmanship.

2. Location of the shotgun shell being inconsistent with the location of his body.

3. Kurt had a seemingly lethal amount of heroin in his blood according to autopsy and coroner findings.

4. Eldon Hoke a.k.a El Duce took lie detector tests regarding accusations that Courtney paid him to murder Kurt....they
concluded that Hoke was in fact telling the truth.

5. Transactions on Kurt's credit cards after pronounced deceased.

6. Logged evidence was returned to Love prior to the case being closed.

7. Love failed to report she had seen Cobain their home on April 2nd, two days prior to his assumed date of death.

8. Fingerprints found on shotgun shells, and the pen in which the suicide note were written having no comparison value.

9. How did Kurt "barricade" himself in the greenhouse with just a wooden stool ?

10. Rumors of Cobain filing divorce papers against Love as well as removing her from his will on the count of her being
unfaithful.

Wait...I mean they won't admit the guy on the grassy knoll and ect helped assassinate Kennedy...not that he was in fact assassinated...that "they"'ll cop to due to lack of zombie reports aside from the occasional t-shirt design...zombie Regan's cooler though

They won't admit Kennedy was assassinated why would they want to bother with Kurt Cobain? heh

I was living in Seattle when Cobain died and one thing that isn't mentioned is that while Kurt had heroin in his blood which would've been lethal to most, it wouldn't have been lethal to a seasoned heroin addict. I have a musician friend who shot up gargantuan amounts of heroin while he was on the road -- an amount that would've killed anyone else had they not developed such a high tolerance. Interestingly enough, my friend continued to churn out music day after day despite the drugs. So it's very likely that Cobain took heroin to numb the pain, pain which would've caused him to reconsider shooting himself on that fateful day. Perhaps he even took it for that reason - to give himself the courage to kill himself. RIP.

Great article! I haven't ever been able to really form a strong opinion about this - and, as you say, this wasn't a person we really knew, only his music was familiar - but this is some pretty damning evidence you've presented here.

I remember when that news broke, too. So big the story because so big was the music at the time. The sound, literally, changed the musical landscape at the time. I was in my early twenties. As far as the subject matter and the writing, the subject matter still draws attention. And that's a good thing. And I like the way you gave reasons, even numbered, to start ot expand on the argument. got yo back-----outta hea

Cobain's name will enter that ever growing log of unexplained celebrity deaths. It seems, sometimes, that a high celebrity status will net a shortened investigation - overlooked clues and evidence "explained away". I hope someone can get to the bottom of it.
