Time in and time out, people around the world set New Year's resolutions. Why? We hope for a better year, a so-called "better me," be better organized, and the chance to try to get out of debt...again. How many of those people actually keep their resolutions? I would guess maybe not even half of the population stick to their word. Resolutions actually cause more useless stress in our lives. Sure it's nice to have goals, but goals can be made any time of the year-not just the beginning of the year.

Instead of trying to set your New Year's resolution-how about setting out and just enjoy life for once? Life is short. Life is all humans have. Money is spent on weight-loss products for those wishing to lose weight as their resolution. A great way to lose weight is an old fashioned exercise: walking. Walking is a wonderful way to lose weight. Do it for about 30 minutes to an hour a day, and you will see results without all of those expensive diet pills and products. Sure, the economy needs consumers to spend, but consumers need to spend money on more useful things such as books. Read a book to ring in your New Year. Take the time to be entertained and relax. If your credit report isn't exactly fancy or perfect, don't stress yourself out about it. Millions of people don't have the perfect credit that they want. Just remember that when you make a purchase, ask yourself: "Do I really need this?" or "Will I be using or wearing this next year?"

Every time that you are standing in line, and these questions run through your head, it's possible that you just might be taking these items back where you found them. As humans, we don't need much. All we need is our family, love, and a place to call home. And on those cold wintry nights, maybe a book or good board game is all that we need to have some entertainment.
