How to Hold a Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenge at Your Office
The great reality TV show "The Biggest Loser" chronicles contestants' journey as they lose an unbelievable amount of weight thanks to the carrot of a grand prize of $250,000. While you may not have the luxury of your own personal trainer or have the time to exercise
24/7, a cash prize for your weight loss can still be yours if you convince a few co-workers to join you in your own Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenge at your office. It's easy, fun and can help keep you focused on your weight loss goal.
Start your Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenge by deciding the date and time that the contest will begin. Keep in mind that this day and time, for example, Monday at Noon, will be the day and time for each weekly weigh-in. Get permission from your office manager to hold the challenge at the office and get their o.k. for the day, time and room (lunch room, conference room, exercise room, etc) where the competition will be held.
You'll also need to decide the details of how much each contestant will pay and how the jackpot will be split up. With our office Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenge, everyone paid $5 at the first weigh-in. On each subsequent week, each contestant would also pay $5 at the weigh in UNLESS they are the Biggest Loser of the week. The Biggest Loser of the week did not pay that week.
At the final weigh-in of our Biggest Loser Weight Loss Challenge, we have a first and second prize, amount to be determined ahead of time, that goes to the 2 people who have lost the largest percentage of body weight. It's best if the Biggest Loser of the week and the Biggest Loser overall is determined by percentage of weight lost, just as on the show the Biggest Loser. This keeps the competition fair for dieters of various sizes to participate.
