Technology Gizmos
The S2 Sports Walkman has a 2GB Built In Memory which stores about 1350 songs depending on how long the music track is. It has a built in FM Tuner for days that you want to listen to your favorite station, world news, or president Bush. The S2 Sports Walkman plays back all types of music formats.
Health Technology
For Those like myself who wanted the Sony S2 Sport Walkman for health reasons like walking, running and weight training. There are some technological benefits for us too.
Calorie Counter:
Allows you to see how many calories you've burned based on your weight and length of workout. The only problem I found is that the calorie counter only goes up to 350 pounds like most companies do. This is a major technological disappointment for me because I just wish companies would realize that people larger than 350 pounds are trying to improve their health too.
Target Settings: Allows you to set the amount of time you want to work out so the music will stop once the pre-determined length of time has passed. In addition, you can set targets for calories burned and distance traveled.
This works really well if your goal is to walk an hour every day. Just set the target setting for 60 minutes and off you go. I also like the fact that I can set it for distance because it will shut off once you reach your goal. For example if I want to walk three miles, then I will know that I reached my goal when the music turns off.
Stop Watch: Allows you to track your speed. Great for us who are trying to run or walk a ten minute mile.
Music Pacer
Allows you to create both running and walking playlists which the Walkman player will play based on whether you are running or walking. Sony calls it a Music Pacer but really all it is are two separate play lists for your MP3 player.
