Canada.com is reporting that Sherri Shepherd may soon win a job on The View as Star Jones' long-awaited replacement. "The wait is almost over, sources claim," the website writes about Sherri Shepherd, who has sat in as a popular guest co-host on The View.

"A new permanent co-host will be announced in January and insiders claim a deal is being worked out with comic Sherri Shepherd," says Canada.com, adding, "If it happens, tell your friends you read it here. (If it doesn't happen, tell your friends you read it on AOL.)"

The View's audiences have fallen in love with the clean Christian comic as Sherri Shepherd has regaled them with true tales of her recent divorce from actor and comedian Jeff Tarpley, with whom she shares a son.

Sherri Shepherd told The View's viewers that she recently checked Jeff Tarpley's email account and found pictures of some woman "with her legs all up in the air," and reported that only the Lord stopped her from bashing Jeff's head in with the lamp she picked up.

Also admitting that she had formerly spent eight days in jail for failure to pay parking violations, Sherri Shepherd said God warned her that she didn't want to go to prison for murder.

"One body cannot hold onto all that anger," Sherri Shepherd said about her journey toward forgiving Jeff Tarpley, a man to whom she pays alimony.

A native of a Chicago suburb, Sherri Shepherd was born April 22, 1970. Sherri's father reportedly worked as a McDonald's manager to help pay for Sherri to attend trade college, which helped her gain work as a legal secretary and perform stand-up comedy at night.

Raised a Jehovah's Witness, Sherri later converted to Christianity after moving from Chicago to Los Angeles.

"I was out here doing stand-up comedy, and everything was going wrong. I was in a very abusive relationship and was making really bad choices," Sherri told Living Light News. One night, Shepherd said she fell to her knees and cried out, searching for God.

Sherri Shepherd has won over The View's viewers...

I am an an author, renowned artist, inventor. musician and extremely well educated, in addendum I am a great admirer of Jehovah's Witnesses and their peaceful contribution to humankind. I was shocked to read the ignorant, incorrect, comments of those decimating these dedicated, decent Christians.

Jehovah's Witnesses are NOT Christians. They deny many of the BSIC doctrines of Christianity: Doctrinal denials include: 1) Denial of the Trinity; 2) Denial of the deity of Christ (Arian view); 3) Denial of the Personality of the Holy Spirit (viewed as "God's active force"); 4) Denial of man's immortal soul 5) Denial of the Biblical view of the Atonement 6) Denial of the bodily resurrection of Christ 7) Denial of salvation by faith in Christ alone; A two class system of salvation - 144,000 in heaven, and the great crowd on a paradise earth. 8) Denial of salvation outside their organization; 9) Denial of the "born again" experience for all (this experience they say is just for 144,000 of the Witnesses); 10) Denial of the eternal punishment of the lost (claiming annihilation is their fate); 11) Denial of the bodily, visible return of Christ (Christ "returned" invisibly in 1914 and there was an invisible "rapture" in 1918).

i hate to beat a dead horse, but i was raised as a Jehovah's Witness. Jehovah Witnesses are christians. the religion is a bible base religion. they do believe in Jesus. in fact at the end of every prayer the say through your son Jesus Christ amen". i am no longer a Jehovah Witness because i just have my own spiruatal (sp) beliefs. but i know that JW's is peaceful, loving religion. they follow what they believe is the only path to salvation.

Continue to focus on ORGANIZATIONS and we will continue to go nowhere. Rather, start your focus on the individuals within them and you will begin to understand why it is said in the bible to "come out of her my people". I congratulate Sherri. I think she is wonderful and full of Spirit to take the steps she has taken.

The Jehovah's Witnesses consider themselves to be Christians because they believe they are serving the true and living God. Like many cults, they think they are the only true *church* on earth (whereas *ALL* who repent of their sins and put their trust in Jesus will be saved...not just those who go to a Jehovah's Witness church). Please don't take my word on this...look it up for yourself in the Bible. The reason Jehovah's Witnesse are not part of Christianity because they depart from the *BASICS* of Christian docrine: - They deny the Trinity (God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are three separate and distinct persons) - They deny the deity of Christ (that Christ IS God) - - They deny the personhood of the Holy Spirit - They deny Jesus' physical resurrection - They deny salvation by grace through faith Please, don't take my word on it...my opinioin counts for nothing....it's God's word that is everything...if you have a Bible, start by reading the book of John and a

To Paula Neal Mooney and Eva, GAIN KNOWLEDGE BEFORE POSTING!!!! Jehovah's Witnesses are open to any topic at the doors. They are not up for a debate and argue. That is not why we come to doors, but because we follow Christ's footsteps. Yes I said Christ! Jesus IS God's son. We are Christian. For those who still aren't sure, ask them a genuine question next time they come to your door. You will not get a "Have a nice day". You will get an honest answer.

No, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that Jesus was the archangel Michael before coming to earth - became Jesus - then returned to his position as Michael when he went back to heaven. I don't remember ever saying anything about Jesus when I was baptised 32 years ago when I was 14 yrs old so they must have changed things. Believing in Christ is not enough for them to be saved. Their salvation is only due to their "works". And even then, they are not sure of their salvation.

I find this irritating. Jehovah's Witnesses are CHRISTIANS!! Yes, they do believe the Jesus is the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. In fact they have to read the scripture saying that Jesus is the Lord of Lords at the Baptism. How do I know? I was raised a Witness but am now Non Demoninational. My family however are still Witnesses. Yes, they believe he is the Messiah! Yes he is the One and only true path to God. At their regional assembly just last weekend the theme was what? FOLLOW THE CHRIST!!! They leave your door because you obviously don't listen that's why they leave. Witnesses are peaceful and if they see someone is angry or possibly volitile they leave since people like you have sent dogs after them or poured hot coffee in their faces. Gain knowledge before posting. The lies you hear about Witnesses are not true. I have my reasons for not being a JW but Christ, who is my Lord and Savior is not one.

Eva, if you read closely, I wrote that Sherri was raised as a Jehovah's Witness but later converted to Christianity. Believe me, I know the questions that send Jehovah's Witnesses running from my front door: "Do you believe that Jesus Christ is King of kings and Lord of lords? Is He your Messiah? Is Jesus the One and Only path to God?" That usually prompts a quick turn and "Have a nice day!"

I fear this will give Rosie more grist for the mill. I personally can't watch The View any more. It's all Rosie; all the time. I really would like a more well rounded exchange. Oh well! I wish Sherri the best. She is so funny!

I thought Jehovah's Witnesses were Christian?
