How to Create a Christmas Tree in Fireworks
In this tutorial I will show you how to create a Christmas Tree in Fireworks. I will show you how to create a basic Christmas Tree and then you can go back and get all creative. You can use this Christmas Tree for many different things like websites, scrapbooks, and Christmas Cards.
Start out by creating a new canvas to work on. Create it any size that you want. You can crop it at the end when you are finished. Set the background color of the canvas to what you
want.
Grab your polygon tool in the toolbar. Draw a polygon on your canvas. Then select the white arrow in your toolbar. Click the polygon to select it. The points will turn from blue to white. Grab the bottom left point with your mouse and drag it upward to line up with the middle point on the left. Grab the bottom right point and drag it upward to line up with the right middle point. You should now have a triangle.
We will go ahead and apply the effects to the tree. Then we will duplicate the other parts of the tree that we will need. Change the color fill of the rectangle to green. Change the border color to the same green. Then change the border options to the following. Change the tip size to 12. Change the stroke category to textured. The edge needs to be set to 60. The edge texture needs to be set to confetti and the amount set to 40. Now you have the basic part of your Christmas Tree.
We can now duplicate the other parts of the tree. Right click on the triangle and click Edit > Duplicate. Drag the duplicated triangle below the first one. Click the transform tool and make the second triangle larger than the first one. Duplicate the second triangle and make the third triangle larger than the second one. Continue doing this until you have the Christmas Tree link you want it.
Now you can draw the trunk of the tree. Use the rectangle tool to draw the trunk. Change the rectangle fill and border to brown. Apply the same border properties to the trunk that you applied to the tree. The only difference is you are going to use brown for the border and not green.
