Men who do not have a romantic bone in their body have a pretty difficult time with Valentine's Day. Valentine's Day has an underlying meaning and the gift that you give someone can make or break your relationship. You can not just give them something that they want or need, it has to be a gift that is romantic, or at least given in a romantic setting. One present you can always count on is one from the heart. Here are some tips for making sure that you pass the test this Valentine's Day.

The Setting- A romantic dinner is a fail safe way to get a set the mood for Valentine's Day. If you like to cook, cooking yourself can add you bonus points. However, make sure you can cook good food and do not try a new recipe that night. Odds are you are going to be nervous and mess it up. Stick with an old favorite to reduce the odds of mishaps. If you can not cook, get takeout from the person's favorite restaurant and serve it on real plates. Set up some candles ( red or pink) and get a bottle of champagne or wine and you are all done! A Valentine's dinner is a a great way to show that you put thought into the day and for setting the mood for romance.

Jewelry- Of course we all know that diamonds are a girl's best friend. However, ladies are very picky about the jewelry we wear. There are so many setting, cut, stone, and metal choices out there, you need to make sure that you know her jewelry preference before making this kind of purchase. Not sure? Try going to a local jewelry store and explaining your situation. Tell them your price range and then have choose about 10 or so selections that fit your price range. Have them arrange them all on a presentation cloth so that they can be presented to her. After dinner, take her to the jewelry store and have them present these beautiful choices that were picked especially for her. Most jewelry stores are willing to do just about anything for you since the competition for customers is high. Your Valentine will swoon.

Romance is in the air.

i'd go with anything but the jewelry for my guy . . . haha, i'm not a big fan of the "man-buy-woman-jewelry" rule. guess i'm a little atypical that way ;)
