Cube World: An Electronic Toy from Radica Games and Brookstone
Digitized Interactive Stick People Play with You and Each Other
Read Funny Gifts for Adults for more ideas.Just when you think there are no new electronic games to amuse you, along comes a new and fun digital product. Cube World, sold by Brookstone, is a collection of four electronic hand-held toys in which players interact.
These are similar to those electronic pets kids used to carry around and take care of. The difference is that these virtual stick people live and move among the interactive cube community.
Cube World is made up of four individual stick people living in their own colorful cubes. You get Slim, who interacts with a stick; Dodger, who kicks/bounces a ball, Scoop, who plays keep-away with his dog, and Whip, who jumps rope. You can simply watch them go through their moves, or you can play games. You earn points by interacting with each stick person using the three buttons on the cube.
The buttons are for sound, game control and high score. After awhile, you can reset the game settings, by using the recessed button on the back of each cube.
Cube comes with magnets on the sides, top and bottom. Combine in different ways, such as vertical, horizontal or with all four making a larger cube. The stick people become aware of each other, and even wave at each other. When you connect all four cubes, much more activity takes place. They form a block party and interact with their new neighbors.
The stick people can also climb into each other's cubes and interact, where they sometimes fight and push each other out of the cubes. Or it may be a friendly meeting with a kiss. When one stick person leaves a cube, a window blind lowers to indicate nobody is now home.
When two cubes are side-by-side, one stick person will knock on the door of the next door neighbor, and then enter. If the cubes are stacked vertically, the stick people can enter up or down through trap doors.
