This simple Frame is a great craft project that the kids can make for a simple Easter craft project or gift. They can insert a schools photo or even a new picture thy have drawn in the simple homemade Easter egg frame. While I suggest using felt for this simple craft project, you could also use almost any pastel fabric or maybe even fun foam.To Make This Simple Felt Easter Egg Shaped Frame You Will Need:
Felt Squares (multiple pastel colors)
Cardboard
Scissors
Ruler
Chalk
Tacky glue
Cotton batting
Sheet of acetate
The first step is to cut out your frame shape out of the cardboard. Use your ruler to measure out an 8X10 square. Now, inside of that square measure out a 5X7 inch square.
Cut the large square out first, then cut the inside square out.
Now, use your pencil to trace out an oval Easter egg shaped on the outer rectangle. Use your scissors to trim the frame down into the shape of an egg.
Now, lay your cardboard frame out on the felt or pastel Easter fabric. Trace the shape of the frame onto the Easter craft fabric with the chalk. Trace about 1 inch outside of the frame an inside of the frame.
Now, inside of the egg shaped Easter frame use the chalk to draw a short diagonal line in each corner that runs into the frame.
Now, cut out the outer oval edge for the pastel Easter fabric or felt. Now, cut out the inside square. Next, use you scissors to cut the diagonal lines.
Now, lay you frame out on the cotton batting and trace the exact shape for the outside and inside of the frame. Cut it out. Now, use the tacky glue to glue the cotton batting to the cardboard frame. Now, lay your Easter craft fabric or felt cut out face down on your worktable. Lay the cotton batting and frame face down next.
Now, run a bead of tacky glue on the back of the frame. Fold you felt or pastel Easter fabric onto the back of the frame.
Now, cut your acetate sheet out to 6X8 inches. Glue it onto the back of the Easter egg frame.
Now, insert your artwork or child's photograph.
Finally, cut out a sheet of cardboard to 8X10 inches. Glue it to the back of the frame.
You are basically finished with the homemade Easter egg gift frame, but you do need to add some sort of picture hanging devise.
