This is a fun project for the kids to make out of those great candy coated malt Easter eggs that taste like whoppers. These yummy candies show up every year right before Easter. They come in all kinds of pastel colors and are perfect for decorating with. This is the perfect craft project during the Easter holiday. Their sweet creations can be used to decorate the fireplace mantel or even the China buffet for Easter. Simple and colorful gumdrops make this craft project fun and easy for kids!

To make this simple Malt Easter Egg picture frame kids will need:

Malt Easter Egg (small or large size)

1 inexpensive wood picture frame

Hot glue

Primer

Pastel Paint

Paint Brushes

Sand Paper

Photograph

Small Easter Ribbon

I find great little wooden picture frames at the dollar store, flea markets, yard sales, and even Wal Mart. They are super cheap and perfect to turn into this simple Malt Easter Egg frame craft project.

So, the first thing I like to do is lightly sand the picture frame. Make sure you take the back off and the glass out.

Wipe off any dust.

Paint on a layer of primer.

Now, once that has dried go ahead and paint your picture frame in any pastel paint color you like. The whole reason to paint this frame is that you can see it behind the Malt Easter Egg, so you want it to match.

Once the paint had dried you can start to glue on your miniature gumdrops. I like to use miniature Malt Easter Egg for this simple Easter craft project.

For an elegant look try gluing all pastel green miniature Malt Easter Egg onto the frame. You can run a bead of hot glue along the frame and start pushing the back of the Malt Easter Egg candy into the glue. The backs of the candies can hold a dollop of glue..

Don't forget to cover the sides of the frame with miniature Malt Easter Egg candies as well.

Now, if you used all green miniature Malt Easter Egg candies you should glue on a fun little pastel colored ribbon on the top middle of the picture frame. Look for a little fun add a sparkly pink ribbon.

For a fun and girly look you could use all pink Malt Easter Egg candies to cover the entire picture frame. Glue on a fun little purple ribbon and put a picture of your little girl in there.
