Congress Passes 'Protect Our Children Act'
New Law Targets Pedophiles & Child Sex Industry
I posted an article on AC about a month ago, "Pedophiles, I'm Coming After You", where I lambasted members of the Congress and Senate over the fact that they were dragging their heels when dealing with the pedophile epidemic in this country. I also noted that a bill to deal with this problem had been languishing on Capitol Hill for years because of the endless bitching that was taking place between both political parties. Three weeks after the article was published, I received an email from one of my sources indicating that California's Junior Senator, Barbara Boxer, had the article. In addition, the person said they were very surprised that I didn't get an email response from Boxer, which led me to believe the senator read it. If she did read it and chose not to respond, I would understand totally. I was pretty hard on the weasels of Washington. At any rate, I am thrilled to inform you all that S. 1738, the Protect Our Children Act, is officially the law of the land! This was confirmed in an email sent to the person that forwarded the article to Senator Boxer. The email stated the following:
"Because you have written to me in support of S.1738, the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2008 (formally called the Combating Child Exploitation Act), I wanted to share some good news with you about this landmark legislation to prevent child exploitation.
I am very pleased to inform you that Congress has passed S.1738, and it was signed into law on October 13, 2008.
As I noted in my previous letter to you, I believe there is no greater obligation than the safety and well being of our children, and that is why I proudly signed on as an original co-sponsor of this bill.
