Wedding Reception Centerpieces on a Budget
The average cost of a wedding in the US is $28,732. This cost includes everything from the dress to the tablecloths. For many engaged couples, money is tight, and it's necessary to cut out much of that cost. For these couples, the worry is that they are trading a beautiful wedding for a
cheap wedding. However, it's possible to have a beautiful wedding and reception on a very small budget. Wedding reception centerpieces are usually expensive, since a florist usually arranges a giant combination of flowers that stands on each table. However, there are several other options for the 'do it yourself' type of person that are just as beautiful. Here are a few ideas for beautiful but cheap wedding reception centerpieces.
Candle arrangements.
Dripless taper candles surrounded by flower petals or seashells are beautiful.
Arrange several candles of different heights and widths together for a stunning centerpiece. This is especially true for nighttime receptions or mood-lit rooms.
Floating candles offer plenty of options. Fill a glass bowl with water and add the candles if it's simplicity that's desired. Food coloring can be added to make it more colorful. Add stones, seashells or colored glass to add some pizazz to the centerpiece.
Potted flowers.
Terra cotta planters are a cheap and easy way to make beautiful potted centerpieces. They can be painted any color, and a finish can be added if a shiny exterior is desired. Go to a local nursery and choose a flower to plant inside the pot, and voila! The plants symbolize the bride and groom 'growing' their life together, and can even be donated to a charity or hospital after the wedding, or sent home as gifts.
Lucky bamboo.
For a modern or asian theme, lucky bamboo is a great choice. Simply place the stalks in a small glass vase, and the centerpiece is done. For added color, simply add stones or colored glass to the bottom of the vase.
Fruit arrangements. Fruit is a cheap and fragrant addition to reception centerpieces.
