There are several email clients specifically designed for the PC, some better than others. If you've got a PC and you're looking into a new email client, you may want to consider the list below.

1. Outlook - Made by Microsoft, it is the official email client of Windows. A nice program, it has many functions, including a calendar. A nice program for the everyday professional.

2. incredimail - A very cool program, this email client makes you WANT to write emails. This mail is sharp and sophisticated, and comes with tons of backgrounds, icons, animations, sounds, 3D effects, etc. This is one client not to pass over; however, it probably is not best for the work environment.

3. Starfish Family Mail - This is a kid friendly email client, made specifically for families with kids. This program is cheap, it has a one time cost of $30.

4. Mozilla Thunderbird - Thunderbird is one of the best email clients you can get. Fully featured, it has everything Outlook offers, plus some. It is, in my opinion, the best email client you can download.

5. Ultrafunk Popcorn - This program is no longer updated or supported by Ultrafunk. However, it is a nice program, and is an option to consider.

6. Scribe - This program looks remarkably like Thunderbird, yet it lacks some of the features. It is simple to use, and is solid. A simple program for a simple email account.

7. Eudora - who hasn't tried Eudora at least once? It is the classic of all email clients, simple, easy to use, and reliable. The latest version has been updated and feels like a whole new program, while remaining oddly familiar.

8. Deep Sleep - If you speak German, this is your program.

9. Opera - Almost as wide spread as Eudora, Opera is a well known email client. While I don't recommend using it personally with so many other fine products out there, it is still a nice program. It's text editor tends to be a little lacking and frustrating, and it doesn't have good encryption support. One advantage is a built in RSS feed for your emails.

Takeaways
  • There are many email clients for windows
  • most clients are free, or have a free basic edition
