Emilio Estevez Remembers Robert F. Kennedy In His Film, "Bobby"

Bobby is a film that takes place at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, CA (the days leading up to Robert F. Kennedy's assassination, the very day of the assassination, the time period after the assassination, and the senator's life in pictures during the end credits). Mr. Estevez
remembers, quite well, standing in the very same kitchen where RFK was shot. It was like taking a trip into the past. This is exactly what Mr. Estevez had to do when scripting Bobby (Bobby was not only scripted by Mr. Estevez, Bobby was also directed by Mr. Estevez.). An all star cast eventually came on board to help Mr. Estevez bring his vision to life. The first cast member who signed onto Mr. Estevez's project was Anthony Hopkins and other cast members soon followed suit. Mr. Estevez's own father, Martin Sheen (A Recurring Cast Member On, The Prime Time Television Series, The West Wing) was among the all star cast in this particular film as well. Even Mr. Estevez, himself, was a part of the cast in his own film. Mr. Estevez remembers RFK as a very important and influential figure. It is interesting to point out that Mr. Estevez was only a little kid when RFK was shot at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, CA. A few scenes in the film, interestingly, were shot (No Pun Intended) in this same hotel. Rumor has it that this particular hotel is now being demolished. Archival footage of RFK was used in Bobby to recreate the many scenes that depicted Robert F. Kennedy.

Barack Obama, the democrat who is running for president in 2008 against Hillary Clinton, as Mr. Estevez states, will be the closest presidential candidate to the presidential candidate that Robert F. Kennedy once was in the 1960s. Mr. Obama, ironically, came to UMass Boston in Dorchester, MA last year to speak at this particular university's commencement. UMass Boston is right in the same area (Columbia Point) as the JFK Library & Museum. I would not be surprised if Mr. Estevez's film is shown at this particular library and museum at some point in either the coming weeks or the coming months.
