A New Dawn

Long ago when nature ruled
I would have rather roamed the earth
With sabertoothed tiger and whooly mammoth
For those on four legs do not plot, lie or deceive
Neither do they hold anger and vengeance in their hearts

But now the sun shines on a cold world
The only breath left in the earth a flicker of hope
That tomorrow may someday rise from the ashes
A new dawn pure and pristine - a rebirth
A return in time to simplicity when earth
Was a respected mother, all life her children

None exploited by the other but revered

Following one simple truth
Living life simply as it is
No preconceived notion of how it must be
A globe does not fit into a box of any size
Nor should it be forced into neat compartments

It's sad that peace has come and gone
Now searched for like a treasure lost
I should have been born so long ago

Very profound. Remember, though, ages past were often full of turmoil.

I love this and really "get" the feeling behind it.
