My question is probably one of the oldest in the book. Are there any good drivers? I was driving in my car the other day, seat belt on, music low, and driving at a moderate speed. I had just pulled up to a red light when a car drove up beside me. It was a woman and she was obviously was trying to multi-task. As a driver, I was sure she was accident prone. The woman was talking on her cell phone, putting on make-up, had music blaring and also had two children in the backseat that were obviously not wearing any seat belts. My first thought was of those poor children's safety. My second thought was that this woman was a poor driver at best. I don't understand why people even try to drive if they can't pay attention. You can be the best driver in the world and still get in an accident because of a bad driver. It makes you just want to take public transportation so you can be safe.

Let's break down a list of drivers into categories. The first category is teenage drivers. I know your first thought was "Oh the horror". Let's face it; teenage drivers are probably the worst in my opinion. If they are just learning to drive they are nervous and scared of getting in an accident. This tends to make them a slow driver. This can be just as bad as a speeder, especially if they are on the freeway. Then you have teenagers that think they know it all. They talk on their phones, pile up the car with friends, and sometimes even drink while driving. It is important to most teens to feel important and fit in with the right crowd. Unfortunately, they use driving to accomplish this.

The next category of drivers are the impatient workaholics. This can be a man or a woman. These drivers are always in a hurry and definitely multi-task. They are speeding, talking on cell phones, putting on make-up, drinking that morning cup of Java, and I have even seen some trying to read the newspaper while driving. These people have no patience for driving at all and just want to get to work on time. They never even consider their fellow drivers. Steer clear of these types of people if you want to avoid dents in your vehicle.

I'm with you on that question. I hate driving any more. It is definitely a matter of life and death on today's roadways. Case in point, my husband and I were following another car yesterday who had to stop to let the car in front of him turn left. All of a sudden, a huge SUV comes up and passes us on the right; nearly clipping our car while flipping us the bird as if it was our fault that he was delayed. Then he took off at break neck speed nearly hitting another car in front of him. It's a tough world out there today. I just hope my grandchildren don't ever expect to drive. (just kidding, of course; well, a little bit anyway)
