Bridget Regan Introduces TV Series 'Legend of the Seeker'

Earlier today, actress Bridget Regan made her first talk show appearance with the ladies of "The View," promoting the new television series, "Legend of the Seeker."

Though she was last seen as a hostess in the recent "Sex and the City" film, Regan has had a varied career. She was seen in the films "The Babysitters" and "Binders" and had recurring roles in the television series "Six Degrees," "The Black Donnellys" and "Law & Order: Criminal

Intent." Regan also starred on Broadway as Cecile in the comedy, "Is He Dead?"

Filmed in New Zealand, which seems to be the country-of-choice for anything fantasy since "Lord of the Rings" was filmed there so many years ago, "Legend of the Seeker" is based on the popular "Sword of Truth" book series by Terry Goodkind. The series is superbly filmed, though New Zealand's countryside definitely is attributes to the all-around beauty of the shots. Upon first viewing, one would assume that "Seeker" is a movie rather than a television series.

The series is the first film version of Goodkind's best-selling novels and is produced by super-hero gurus, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert (Xena and Hercules). "Seeker" will be the first nationally syndicated fantasy series in a long while. Normally such a series would only be picked up by the Sci-Fi channel or some other cable outlet, leaving those of us without cable to ho hum to ourselves and hide our jealousy.

A traditional fantasy series about the struggle between good and evil, Goodkind's world has held fans captivated for years. The series follows the character Richard Cypher (Craig Horner) just after the vicious murder of his father. The mysterious Kahlan Amnell, called "The Confessor" (Bridget Regan) appears in his sanctuary asking for help. While Richard struggles to understand himself and the world that is quickly changing around him, Kahlan charges him to reach within himself and "beyond his sword."

Called "pure fantasy and pure escapism" by the president of Disney-ABC Domestic television, the series premieres November 1 & 2nd nationally. You can find out where and what time "Legend of the Seeker" will air in your city by going here.
