In an article January 2, 2007, Steve Hicks asked, Why is Christian Music Inferior? In my response, I would say that part of the reason Hicks thinks that way is his taste in music is totally different than mine. Maybe some other people also have a different taste in music than him. If he liked different types of music, he might be open to the many talented Christian singers and groups and their incredible lyrics.

I cannot begin to compare with Steve Hicks as a musician. He has me beat hands down. He has been a musician for more than 20 years. I am not that great a singer, although I have sung in duets with my wife at church and at an assisted living care center, where we do a Bible study as part of a church service. I am not a great expert in playing any instrument, although I have played keyboard solos at church and also as a part of the Bible study and service.

I certainly respect Hicks as a brother in Christ and a musician. His taste in music is certainly different than mine, however. I do not feel Christian music is in any way, at least the kind I listen to, inferior when compared to secular music.

Good article. The one rock song I liked was the Beatle's song 'Let It Be.'
