Those Newspapers Who Supported McCain Are Tossed

The Drudge Report headline reads "Skeptical Reporters Tossed Off Obama Plane." According to the report the New York Post, Washington Times and Dallas Morning News have all been told that they must exit and make room for other news organizations. I read the Drudge report earlier today and began this article, but was called away. I was surprised to hear the opening line from Rush Limbaugh today was a reference to this Drudge Report article.

These newspapers have endorsed McCain and despite the fact that their reporters have long covered the campaign, they are being summarily tossed overboard to make room for other news organizations. One can surmise that news organizations who have endorsed Obama will obtain the coveted sets aboard his plane.

Certainly this is well within the right of the Obama campaign but may well be a harbinger of news coverage in the future. Those that criticize will not be afforded the opportunity to cover an event from the inside.

The Washington Times was irritated to say the least, that their reporter was tossed. The Dallas Morning News had a much different approach and were generally understanding, almost apologetic. There was no announcement in the New York Post as of noon today. It is difficult to understand these two almost opposite comments about reporters being tossed. One can conjure up many reasons, but perhaps any conclusion is best left to the reader.
