Ok, so if you are on a real tight budget and the thought of buying stamps alone sends you into frenzy, then this project may be for you. I am saying that this Easter card project is free based on the assumption that you have some simple everyday materials around your home.
To Make Easter Cards You Can Make for Free you will need:
Brown Paper Bags (You can substitute Craft paper or even computer paper if that is what you have.)
Potatoes (or some sponges will work)
Pastel Paint or Ink
Leftover Ribbons
Hole Puncher
Ink Pen
Paring Knife
The first step is to see what envelopes you have laying around the house. Do you have any left over from Easter card boxes, old Thanks You Note gift sets, or even the plain white ones you have for sending off letters and bills. Since you are trying to save some money here you need to make your Easter cards fit these envelopes.
Measure your envelope. Cut out your brown paper bag material to be the same height and twice as wide.
Now, cut your potato in half. Try to cut it so that you will have the most surface area expose on each side.
Trace out an Easter themed shape on the fleshy white part of the potato. Cut away the outer edge of potato surrounding your Easter design. I like to cut out a group of three different shaped in different sizes and heights. You could do Easter bunnies, Easter eggs, and even little chicks.
Squirt your pastel colored ink or paint out onto a plastic plate. Dip the potato stamp into other ink. Now, press it on the front of your card. Repeat this with a grouping an odd number of Easter designs.
Now, directly below your Easter designs grouping poke two holes with your whole punch. Like to make them about a centimeter apart.
Insert one end of pastel ribbon through the left hole, and then insert the other ribbon end through the right hole. Loop each end of Easter ribbon around the back and through the opposite hole. Pull the thread out of the front of the card. Now, tie the ribbon into a small bow.
Use your scissors to trim down the ends of the ribbon.
