These simple glittery Easter eggs are e great new way to decorate you Easter eggs this year. You don't' have to skip dying your Easter eggs or buying those great plastic Easter eggs. Just use these steps to add some great sparkly details to plastic and dyed Easter eggs. The kids will certainly have a much easier time finding them in the yard this year! These simple glittery Easter eggs also look great stacked in a pretty glass bowl and used as a centerpiece on the dinner table during Easter!
To Make These Glittery Easter Eggs You Will Need:
White glue
Water
Disposable cup
Paintbrush
Glitter or sparkling sand (any color)
Hot glue and hot glue gun
Glittery puff paint or puff paint
The first step so to water down some of your white glue in a disposable cup. I like to make mine 2 parts white glue and one part water.
Now, use a paint brush to paint on the glue in any pattern you would like. You can make polka dots, stripes, swirls, and even hearts. You could also cove the entire egg in white glue and paint for a solid glittery Easter egg.
Now, roll you Easter eggs in the glitter. Glitter sand or colored sand also works really well. If you are trying to coats the entire Easter eggs ornament you may find you need to add a second coat of glue and glitter once the first coat dries.
Now, you can also add a sweet touch to the Easter eggs. I like to cut a piece of that tiny pearl ribbon and use the hot glue gun to glue it to the edge of the shell. Simply run a thin bead and then press it into place.
To finish off the Easter eggs you need to let them sit and dry. You can let them rest in an empty egg crate or lay them in a bowl so they can not roll away.
Now, for a really unique and glittery look for your Easter eggs try leaving the egg white or the same color plastic it came as. Roll it in the watery glue, and then roll it in glitter that is the same color as the egg. This is a great look I you are using really eggs. You can roll them in white or silvery white glitter. It will emphasize the original color of the Easter egg and give a more elegant and timeless look.
