Many may be familiar with the Lands End catalog. They offer high quality products at a moderate price (usually lower than L.L. Bean), but many may not know of the special features and great service offered by Lands End on-line. Other catalog companies (Lillian Vernon and L.L. Bean come to mind) have successfully launched on-line stores, but none quite offer the same services as Lands End on-line.

First off, even though I only recently purchased an item from their on-line store, I've known about one of their unique services for quite some time. You can create your personal on-line model! It is completely customizable, personal (you probably don't want people knowing your weight, after all), and extremely useful for ensuring that your clothing items from Lands End fit. By simply putting in body type, weight, and height, you can create a scarily accurate model (you can input hair color and length, eye color, etc. to add to the experience). When my boyfriend created one of me, it was kind of eerie to see a virtual version of myself. His was dead-on as well.

Beyond the usual services such as creating an on-line account, on-line customer service, etc., as well as the customizable model, Lands End offers additional unique services. They include hemming, monogramming, Lands End Live, gift boxes, as well as fabric care tips. Guys can even find a tutorial on how to tie a tie! Lands End on-line goes out of its way to cater to their customers.

When I purchased a shirt for my boyfriend on-line for Christmas, I already knew his size; however, I was still unsure of exactly how it would fit him.
