Dems Take Control. Will Justice Be Swift, or Not at All?

This is an important day, an important time in our American history. A few corrupt, or inept, or incapable politians -this depends on your viewpoint- have overstepped their authority, and perhaps sold out the American people for clandestine motive. These men should be held accountable. They should be subject to trial, and punishment.
Richard Nixon was removed from office for far less, and his motivation was pride, not profit. Bill Clinton offended some of our moral majority, and was nearly ousted.
Hundreds of thousands have died, millions and millions of dollars have been wasted. Our soldiers have been pushed far beyond their capacity. Prisoners have been tortured.
If the new congress is sincere about ethical reform, some action must be taken.

In those fright filled days following the destruction of the World trade center, in New York City, USA, the president took a reactionary stance, and made the determination to strike Iraq which was later found to have little or no involvement. Many of the 9/11 perpetrators were of Saudi Arabian descent.
Inspectors were on the ground with authority to inspect any area of Iraq, whenever they chose. They uncovered no Weapons of Mass destruction. The Iraqi Air Force was, as shown in satellite surveillance photos, buried in the desert.

The President believed weapon grade Uranium was being purchased by Iraq from Africa. An investigation proved this was false. When the President sought to suppress the indications of the investigation, career diplomat Joseph Wilson came forward bringing the results of the investigation directly to the American people. Infuriated, G W Bush sought to punish Wilson by exposing and endangering Wilson's wife, Valerie Plume. Iraq had no nuclear capacity, weapon oriented or otherwise.
The original source of the leak we have now learned was Richard Armitage, the Deputy Secretary of State under then Secretary of State Colin Powell.
