The State of New Mexico offers some of the most fantastic downhill skiing and snowboarding the Western United States. The North Central region in New Mexico is a mountainous area with steep mountains and plenty of snow, and it boasts multiple resorts offering slopes for beginners and expert skiers alike.

Taos Ski Valley
The Taos ski area is considered one of the best in the world, with over 1,100 skiable acres. The average annual snowfall is 320 inches. The elevation at the base of the Taos ski area is 9,200 with a peak elevation of 11,819. This provides skiers with an incredible vertical drop of 2,612 feet. Approximately one half of the runs are rated expert, while the remainder are intermediate and beginner. Taos also boasts one of the top ranked ski schools. The downhill skiing is extraordinary, truly memorable. Snowboards are not allowed.

Ski Santa Fe
Ski Santa Fe is located in the Pecos Wilderness, adjacent to Santa Fe, New Mexico, with 550 acres of skiable area. Sante Fe has an average snowfall of 255 inches. The elevation at the base of the Santa Fe ski area is a high 10,353 and a peak elevation of 12,000 feet. Skiers are provided a vertical drop of 1,650. Approximately forty percent of the runs are advanced with the remainder intermediate and beginner. Ski Santa Fe has an exceptional ski school. Come and ski among the trees at Santa Fe. Snowboards are allowed.

Angel Fire Resort
Angel Fire Resort is located east across the mountains from Taos. The Angel Fire Resort caters to families and is ideal for skiers of all abilities. The average snowfall is 210 inches. Angel Fire has 445 skiable acres, and a base elevation of 8,600 feet. With a peak elevation of 10,677, Angel Fire provides skiers a 2,077 feet vertical drop. Approximately twenty percent of the runs are advanced, with forty eight percent intermediate. Angel Fire is a great family destination. Snowboards are permitted.
