2) Address:

Just below the address you have to write the name of the person to whom you are writing the letter, followed by the occupation and brief address of the person. Below that you have to write the details about the person who is writing the letter.

3) Subject:

After writing the address start writing the subject starting from the beginning of the line. In the subject you have to mention the name of the student, the reason for his absent and the dates on which he was absent from the school.

4) Main body content:

After writing the subject, start writing the main body text. In the body of the letter, you have to discuss the subject in detail. Who was absent, why he was absent and when he was absent, all that has to be discussed in the body. Keep the letter short and to the point. Write about the homework that the student has missed while he was absent from the school.

5) Salutations:

End the letter with proper salutations. For example "Best regards" etc. If the absent was due to illness then it would be appropriate to attach a medical certificate with the letter.

Writing an excuse letter is a very easy and simple task. Just keep it simple and keep it to the point and don't make it too long. The shorter the excuse and the letter, the better it is. Make sure to read the school's policy regarding the excuse letter for unplanned absences.
