Reporters Are Not Making Up the Stories About Sarah Palin
The reason that Sarah Palin remains in the post-election news, on issues such as whether Africa is a country or a continent, is not because the "left wing liberal news media" has something against her. The reason is because John McCain's associates continue speaking to members of the media, be those media members be left wing or right wing or straight down the middle.There's a story there. Even while Sarah Palin was trying to insist there is no story, she unintentionally stated that there indeed is a story.
In denying there is a story, Sarah Palin explained that the time has come to focus on saluting Barack Obama's victory, and to "not let the pettiness or maybe internal workings of a campaign erode any of the recognition of this historic moment." We do not mean to do one of those "gotcha journalism" moves, but this statement does seem to indicate that Governor Palin indeed perceives that there has been some pettiness in the internal workings of the McCain campaign.
Right-wing talk show hosts and pundits are protesting that these latest episodes just go to show that the left wing liberal news media has a target on Sarah Palin's back. Well, the latest revelations regarding clashes between Palin's people and McCain's people come from none other than FOX News. Unless FOX News has swung suddenly to the left, it's difficult to blame the liberal news media.
Stories are not being concocted, Someone, or several people, in McCain campaign leadership is making these statements and allegations. It does definitely seem that it is more than once source.
FOX's Carl Cameron was told that when McCain aides were prepping Palin for public appearances, they encountered what one described as lacking "the degree of knowledge-ability necessary to be a running mate, a vice president, a heartbeat away from the presidency." Cameron was told that Palin seemed to perceive that Africa was a nation within itself, similar to India, rather than a continent that contains many nation. Palin also was portrayed as failing to know that NAFTA (the North American Free Trade Agreement) is a pact between Mexico, the United States and Canada.

So everybody believes that there was no "pettiness or internal workings" within the Obama campaign? For somebody who is so dirty behind the scenes, everybody seems to think he is really clean. Feels like everybody is in denial because they want change, well now we are getting our change. We are throwing money that we don't have at all of our problems that have been caused by the left and all it is doing is making everything worse. I find it strange that people are still complaining about how much money was spent on the war in Iraq yet they still praise Obama like he is the Messiah even after everything he has done since being in office. All I can do is sit back and laugh while everybody struggles in the midst of all this "change" that is spreading around.

I doubt the "Africa thing" was just a fluke. While all we can do is speculate, the truth of the matter is that she was consistent in thinking that Africa was a nation, not a continent with many nations.
If these were media liberals digging up dirt I would be more skeptical. But Carl Cameron spoke with McCain aides on the campaign trail...there's really not much to be skeptical of.
Lastly, I think it's great that this information is coming forward (though it's a little late, wouldn't you say?). Especially since people are gunning for her to run in 2012. I'm skeptical of these reports. Could Palin have been fatigued when these staffers witnessed this supposed gaffe? What if she simply misspoke akin to Obama's misspeaking about there being 57 states. He was clearly tired when he made that statement. Could this Africa thing be the same situation?

Fox news . . . Fox Knew. McCain knew. They tried to put this maroon in the white house, and it looks like they are going to try again, in 2012. Americans, remember this please. This is no time for amatuers - sarah, joe the plumber . . . I for one want the very best and brightest to lead this country, and it has bee awhile since that has been the case. GObama. Godspeed.
The election is over folks. Regarding Palin and the McCain camp saga, I don't understand why anyone would care at this point. Considering what's ahead of us as a nation, I think it's time to move on.

I do think there is truth to these reports. She's uneducated and hasn't traveled so she wouldn't really know much about other countries. Also, she pretty much admitted that she doesn't read newspapers. I'm just wondering when she is going to return the eyeglasses that the Republican party bought for her.
Could John McCain have been the wrong pick for the ticket? Something to think about.
Yeah, but did she think she could see Africa from her window? :)
