A Short Funny Story

A Short Funny Life Story

I have spent the night outside many times and it is fun. Anyone who has slept outside in good weather knows that. There was this one specific campout that I will never forget.

O.k. so here I am at camp minding my own business. Doing all types of activities and having fun. When one night when the sky was clear and there was no wind. So instead of sleeping in my tent I slept outside. It was a lot of fun and I fell asleep really fast. But there was one thing I
forgot. BUGSPRAY! I woke up in the middle of the night and I was very itchy. I thought it was nothing and I fell back asleep. When I woke up in the morning I was covered in lots and lots of itsy bitsy tiny little tiny red dots that itched a lot. The strange thing is that nobody else that slept outside was bitten the way I was.

They all had a little but not that much. I got really itchy and just about the first thing I did was get my stick of after bite which is stuff that you put on your bites to make them not itch. This stick saved my life at Boy Scout camp. Without this I would just be twitching for the rest of camp. It would stink. The worst part was that I still had about four days left at camp. I used just about all of my after bite stick there. I had so many bug bites! Even though I itched so badly I still managed to have a fun time at camp.

There was this man there who thought us how to tie knots. He said that he had a worse case than me a long time ago. I couldn't even imagine that. Then the troop leaders found out and they brought us to the doctors! The problem was the doctor was on the other side of camp and this was a big camp. So a whole bunch of other people who got it and I had to sit there and wait for the doctor to get there. When the doctor got there he told us to keep on using the after bite and not to itch. We never figured out what bit us but we think it was chiggers. Even though I was very itchy I still managed to have a fun time.

Man, I feel your pain. I spent 6 months living outside, and I can't tell you how many times I got eaten alive by all types of bugs. Don't let it turn you off to the outdoors! The woods are where we began, and we should all spend time there...
