The trick to making tile coasters look really great is by keeping your designs as simple as possible. I like to make coasters in sets of four so I buy two solid red tiles and two plain white ones. Paint a simple design onto the front of the tile. For the red tiles I usually paint a solid white or pink heart in the center and on the white tiles I use a heart stencil and paint around the stencil in red leaving the white heart center.
As soon as the paint has dried coat the entire front of the tile with the waterproof adhesive glue. While the glue is drying cutout four inch squares from the fabric felt and. Cover the bottom of the tile in glue and attach the felt, leave to dry. Enjoy your new set of coasters!
To make corkboard tiles
Most craft stores sell cork board in various shapes including round coaster so they should not be hard to find. If you cannot find cork board in the shape of coasters already cut try buying sheets of corkboard an office store and cutting out small circles. I have also found corkboard in small circles in the garden section of large stores as well as garden and nurseries.
