Interview with Christian Musician Logan Lindvigsmoen

On January 3, 2007, I had the pleasure of interviewing local Christian music artist, Logan Lindvigsmoen. He is an extremely talented young man who deserves to be heard. He has a strong voice with powerful lyrics that do not conform to the formula. His music is unfiltered and raw. It is just how Christian music should be. Here is how our interview went.

AE: Logan, I am really pleased to be interviewing you today. Thank you for coming.

Logan: Thank you for this opportunity.

AE:I have listened to your CD "Who I Am Today". Why did you choose that title?

Logan: I was trying to think of a title that would fit for each song on the CD. It originally started out to be a five song album, but I became so energized that it quickly became an eleven track CD. I feel that life is a journey and making this CD was just one step in my journey. So I thought one day that is CD is where I am now at this point in my journey and that is when I decided that I would title this CD where I am today.

AE: I have to admit that I love your CD. It has catchy rhythms. What inspires you to compose?

Logan: Life in general. I try to look at things with a spiritual spin. Sometimes at the computer I treat my music like a job. I want to express life everyday because it evolves and is always newly inspiring.

AE: What made you realize that you wanted to create music? How old where you when you first began to play and what instrument do you play?

Logan: About 6 or 7, I picked up a guitar. I liked to hang with people who played and thought it was cool. At 11, I realized that this was something I wanted to do for a career. I got serious. I worked with my parents when I got older so I had a little more free time than I think most kids did. I practiced everyday for 5 to 6 hours and I wrote my first song. That was when I really became interested in making music.

AE: When I first listened to you latest CD the song Never Again stays with me. What message are you trying to portray in the lyrics of that song?
