No matter where I am New York City, will always be home. There is on experience like it anywhere in the world and it does not matter if you live here, or are a visitor, you will want to see as much of it as possible. Fortunately, many of the most famous places in New York City offer a variety of free things to do and see. Some of them are for a limited time, but the ones listed here are available year round. So when ever you are in New York, try and make time to visit one of these. It will be a unique experience.

Federal Reserve Bank

33 Liberty St. -
between Nassau & William Streets,

A bank may seem to be a strange place to come for an event, but the Federal Reserve Bank in downtown Manhattan give a very special free tour. How would you like to descend 5 stories below ground to visit a vault full of gold. Sorry, not free samples. The gold stored here belongs to countries from around the world. You have to call them to make reservations for this tour. They have them every weekday, so you should not have a problem finding one to suit your schedule.

Alice Tully Hall, The Juilliard School

60 Lincoln Center Plaza -

The Juilliard School of Music is one of the most famous in the world. They accept only the best of the best. And they have free events throughout the year, both at the school and other venues. Click on the Calendar of Events link and you will see all the free performances coming up. For instance, in February you can attend a free violin concert. So take a look and see what interests you. You just might be able to say you saw a famous musician before he or she became famous.
