Asperger's is considered high-functioning, but the social skills never fully develop. It has to be very frustrating to look totally normal and yet be unable to socialize like others. THEN to have people say things like, "Why do you do that? What's wrong with you?"

Don't forget Bertram Mark Bacharach, the grandfather of Nikki Bacharach! Bacharach is of Jewish descent.

Vonnie: You are correct. I see that I misspelled it some of the time, but not all of the time. Sorry for the error and thanks for bringing it up so it could be corrected.

Am I mistaken or is this spelled Asperger and not Asberger. Not sure if I am thinking of the correct term. This is such a sad article. I worked with autistic childern in the public school system for 14 years. I do know that Asperger's is considered to be on the high end of the autistic list of syndrome disorders. The way an autistic child reacts to their surroundings is so different than what is considered to be the norm. Every autistic child I ever worked with had a talent though.
