There are many career choices, where you can make a good salary, that do not require a four year college degree, at least not to get started in the industry. When choosing a career, take a look at some of the more unusual occupations. You may just find one that you never even thought of will be the one that you will find is the one you will enjoy the most.

If you are a student looking for a career, or already employed and looking to change careers and you are looking for something different and interesting, you should explore as many different career choices as possible. Do you like geography or have an interest in different parts of the world, have a good attention to detail and are able to compile data then give a look at being a Cartographer, or map maker. It is actually one of the oldest careers. Man has been making maps ever since he learned to scratch marks onto a cave wall. To be a Cartographer today, you need to be up to date on all the latest computer technology and be willing to continue to keep up to date by taking more courses in the future. Jobs are available both at the government level and in private industry and in virtually every state.
